I got three rejection letters over the weekend. Not much fun but not really unexpected. Add it to the pile. I FINALLY got my Baen rejection letter 1 year and 4 months after I submitted Smooth Running. Smooth Running is currently awaiting rejection at Ace. I'm not sure where it should go after that. There doesn't seem to be a huge market in stores for 'guys with guns and magic' stories. I may end up hiring an editor and an illustrator and self publishing it. If I do, I'll have an excuse to write another half dozen Smooth and Tori stories. That would make me happy.
I got started on this week's story critiques. I also did a bit of writing, once my hand was willing to type. So, not a bad day after all. Just a painful expensive one. I tell you, burns really put the pain of rejection letters into perspective. Now to send those rejected stories somewhere else...
