Once I get the epigrams written, I'll be mailing it out to some fine writers I know to get feedback. Hopefully the plot and characters will work. Again, a writer is rarely the best judge of their work but I liked writing this. It's been almost a year in the making. Next time I'll spend less time between drafts. I finished this first draft in July and I'm glad did the revisions I did, especially in this latest draft. So, if I hear back from folks and I can get my stuff together on the line edit, I should be in good shape to send it out at then end of March.
Well, all done but the epigrams and the 'final' line edit. Oy. I hate line-edits. Not my strong suit. I'm still not sure about the ending but that's what first readers are for. I started with Jacob's POV so it made sense to end with Jael's. On the other hand, I'd like to show a bit of Jacob's alienation when he gets back. Of course, I can always start out with that in the second book.

I finished my first draft is just over a month. I would need to check the archives here to be sure but that was about 145k words in 4-6 weeks.
