I did manage to get some work done, the read-aloud pass is not up to Jacob and Jael leaving the farm. I keep thinking there has to be a better way to do this early part of the story. But I’m just not finding it. It seems to want to take as long as it takes and every attempt I make to shorten it seems to make things worse. At least to my biased eyes. I’m tempted to send off my second draft after a copy edit. But we perservere. I’ll get this bloody thing finished and then let someone else reject it, rather than rejecting it for them.
I’m a little (a lot) disappointed with my progress this month. I had hoped to have Angel Odyssey out the door by today and be working on my new book. It’s discouraging but that’s writing, two steps forward, three steps back. Rabble.
I also have a whopping eight files to critique for this Saturday’s critique group so I don’t know how much forward momentum I’ll have. But we will keep charging and we will trample the forces of laziness, poor time management and dithering under my mighty writing hooves. Or something.
