In any case, I should be done with the first draft by Friday, life permitting. It's interesting but when I was in 'crunch mode', I was a lot more productive. I could have finished this, oh, ten days ago if I'd kept up my 'no life, just write' schedule. I wonder if I should do that next time. Just stay in that mode until I'm done, rather than treating it like a game. 'Oh well, I tried, I lost, good game' and back to my old, time-wasting life. I'm afraid I'm still an amateur (which goes without saying since I haven't published anything yet) but I'm getting better.
Another chapter done. Jacob is close to breaking out, then reunion, one more challenge, one more confrontation and we're at the end. It's odd (or curious) but I feel reluctant to end it. I've been working on this story for a little over two months but it's become such a part of my life it's hard to let it go. Not that I am letting it go. After this, the harder work begins: revising.
