Nope, no Tina Fey or even Norm MacDonald, just me. The weekend writing went well. I finished Chapter 14 and got up to the brune encounter. Next chapter should have the pursuit and fighting the brunes. That will also (finally) introduce Balt.
Brunes are a slightly fantasy creature. The basic idea is a black bear given more intelligence, an evil personality and a pack hunter as well. Black bears are the smallest North American bears but they're still bears; quick, strong and equipped with sharp teeth and claws. Add in pack hunting tactics and near-tireless pursuit of prey and you have a nasty fantasy opponent without being too far over the top.
Tonight is IM gaming night, though; probably the last IM gaming night for June. I'm still not sure I'll hit my target but I'm feeling a bit better after this weekend's work.
